Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policy
enGauged Limited are design and consulting engineers based in Crewe and work all over the UK. Most of the work we undertake is office based with occasional visits to site to view and survey an area for design purposes.
We are committed to managing health, safety and wellbeing at work and our objectives are to:
- Secure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all persons at work so far as is reasonably practicable
- Protect persons other than persons at work against risks to health or safety arising out of or in connection with the activities of persons at work
- Design safer, easier to use and simpler to construct infrastructure
We aim to achieve our objectives by:
- Providing, as far as is practicable, a safe and healthy working environment, safe premises and facilities for employees, subcontractors, and visitors
- Creating for employees, as far as is practicable, a working environment where potential work-related stressors are avoided, minimised, or mitigated through good management practices, effective human resources policies and staff development
- Making sure that employees have access to appropriate training and development to enable them to discharge competently the responsibilities assigned to them
- Providing employees, free of charge, with provision of personal protective equipment, health surveillance, welfare facilities etc, as and when required
- Providing sufficient resources for the management of health and safety
- Promoting safe behaviours and re-educating unsafe behaviours
- Applying health and safety by design principles to eliminate risks where possible, and where not, to control risks early in the design stage
- Having an effective system for communicating and consulting on health and safety matters, and securing the co-operation of employees in implementing the Health and Safety Policy
- Promoting healthy lifestyles and wellbeing to maintain good mental health and reduce stress
- Supporting and encouraging a healthy work-life balance
- Promoting and maintaining a positive working environment
- Monitoring absence and conducting return to work interviews with a view to supporting employees in their return to fitness
- Setting, monitoring, and reviewing the Company’s health and safety objectives annually in Management Reviews
- Holding a Management Review annually as a minimum monitor and review the Company’s health and safety procedure to enable continual improvement of the Company’s health and safety performance
The Managing Director is responsible for implementing this policy and embedding it throughout the Company’s systems and procedures.
This policy is applicable to all employees and those who undertake work on our behalf and have a responsibility to:
- Cooperate with the Managing Director on health and safety matters
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety
- Report all health and safety concerns to their Line Manager
This policy forms part of our Integrated Management System and is certified to ISO 45001:2018.
